Fred Hayman Perfumes

Fred Hayman Perfumes broke ground sometime in 1984, with the formal launch of its inaugural fragrance Giorgio Beverly Hills which became a big hit among Hollywood habitus. Easily considered as the great big thing about Fred Hayman perfumes, the Giorgio Beverly Hills label and fragrance were eventually sold to Avon Products in 1987 for $165 million, and the fashion boutique was later renamed Fred Hayman Beverly Hills and the fragrances to Fred Hayman Perfumes.

The famed designer, in recognition to his major accomplishments and contributions, earned the moniker as the Father of Rodeo Drive. Fred Hayman, a Swiss native, grew up in New York and is known as the iconic legend behind the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills. His first foray into the fashion world took him to a collaborative venture with the famed hotelier, Hilton. Hayman used his innate talent in creating elegant hotel rooms and managing events to draw in the affluent crowd of Hollywood.

The resounding response by Hollywood's nouveau riche and the sophistication that they have brought along has given him the impetus in establishing his luxury shop the Giorgio Beverly Hills in 1962. Notable clients and habitus of this luxurious Beverly Hills landmark include Elizabeth Taylor, Lucille Ball and Frank Sinatra.

Hayman eventually took over the reins of management of Giorgio Beverly Hills in 1962, and immediately planted the first seeds that would transform this erstwhile laidback fashion enclave into a world-class shopping destination that will eventually rival Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore of Paris, Bond Street of London and Fifth Avenue of New York.

Gaining a strong reputation and influence among Hollywood top personalities, Hayman was assigned as The Academy Award's design coordinator during the latter part of the 80s, further cementing his position in the glitzy world of fashion. Giorgio Beverly Hills eventually became the top destination for the rich and the famous outside of New York and Paris. Indeed, Fred Hayman is the iconic symbol of Beverly Hills as it is today, making the place as the embodiment of fame and wealth.

After the sale of the Giorgio label and fragrance to Avon Products in 1987, Hayman developed and released several collections of fragrances under Fred Hayman Perfumes. Hollywood Perfume was released in 1988 by Fred Hayman's design house, which is a celebration of the ritzy and glamorous culture that Hayman so adored. This was followed by another feminine scent accessory Fred Hayman 237 which was released the following year.
