Harajuku Lovers Perfume

The concept of Harajuku Lovers is one that is embedded in the quirky area of Tokyo, Japan, and is the project of No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani. Her love of all things quirky and Japanese led to the line of merchandise and apparel that accompanied some of her music, and led to the Harajuku Lovers line being launched. The Harajuku Lovers Perfume range is one that is divided into the four 'Harajuku' girls who each have an individual scent.

It is the cute and quirky cartoon style of many of the products and brands in Japan which inspired Gwen Stefani to actually look at creating the range of apparel that she has launched, and it is the popularity of this range which has led to the creation of complementary fragrances to accompany the range itself. Having the popularity of a pop star such as Gwen Stefani, and one who is well known for her individual and unique approach to fashion meant that the quirkiness and different style of Harajuku Lovers is one that proved to be successful.

For each of the individual scents that make up the Harajuku Lovers perfume range, the theme that is running through each one is the floral side of the fragrances, with each one providing its own individual take on the floral fragrance to match the style of the character. These are scents that are unashamedly youthful, and will tend to appeal to those for whom the quirky style of the apparel and the music will already be something that they are interested in.

The packaging for the Harajuku Lovers perfume range is one that is very much linked to the idea behind the range, and each bottle is a depiction of one of the four Harajuku girls at the heart of the range. The bottles are characters that are inspired by the Japanese cartoon style, and there are five fragrances in total which make up the four Harajuku girls and Gwen Stefani herself. The presentation is one that clearly shows its origins in Tokyo, where Stefani came up with the Harajuku Lovers idea, and wears that Japanese heritage proudly.

The concept behind the whole brand is one that is somewhat foreign, but it is undoubtedly cute and appeals to many people who aren't normally that interested in the mainstream fashions and styles. Harajuku Lovers perfumes are excellent fragrances themselves, and really do convey a certain oriental style in their smell that is quintessentially Japanese in origin.
